Salt Lake City Public Lands
Join a volunteer effort to plant our fall bulbs at the International Peace Gardens! Working alongside city landscaping staff, we will be planting bulbs to prepare for gorgeous springtime blooms, as well as complete other landscaping tasks such as weeding and raking. Come enjoy a nice fall day and get hands-on! Please bring comfortable work clothes, closed-toe shoes, water, and any sun protection you may need. We will provide all the necessary tools!

November 5th - 3-5 PM Join a volunteer effort to help keep our parks a welcoming and safe place for the community! Volunteers can expect to pick up litter/debris, remove invasive weeds, dig/beautify tree wells, or prune vegetation. Bring comfortable clothing, sun protection, closed-toed shoes, and water. We will provide all tools. Volunteers must register individually to accept volunteer waiver upon registration. Sign up for a volunteer shift below!

Join Salt Lake City Public Lands and our Trails & Natural Lands (TNL) Team for a hands-on stewardship project at Fairmont Pond! We'll be working together to remove overgrown cattails that are taking over portions of the pond. This effort will help manage vegetation and maintain the pond's open-water areas.

Wednesday, Nov 11th, 12-2:30 PM Join a volunteer effort to plant bulbs for spring flowers at Liberty Park! We will be planting bulbs around the greenhouse for flowers that will pop up in the spring. We will be planting from 12-2pm, and then Tracy Aviary will be providing some education at the end from 2-2:30pm. Please bring sun protection, closed-toed shoes, clothing you'll be comfortable working in, and water. We will provide all tools. We will be meeting by the greenhouse, just east of the pool: https://maps.app.goo.gl/4VavPCNipNF4z7xWA Parking is available in the Tracy Aviary parking lot and in spaces around the park. Join a semi-annual volunteer effort to help beautify and honor the Salt Lake City Cemetery. As one of the biggest city-managed cemeteries in the entire country, the SLC Cemetery is a beautiful and important piece of our city's history and culture, and volunteer efforts provide a tremendous help in the effort to give it the attention and maintenance it deserves. It is also a registered arboretum, with dozens of unique tree species planted within the cemetery grounds! Join us as we work alongside our Urban Forestry experts to plant trees and maintain the space while enjoying a peaceful fall morning with your fellow community members. Please come prepared with clothing you're comfortable working in, closed-toe shoes, water, sun protection, and any layers you may need in case it's chilly. We will provide all the necessary tools.

Saturday, Nov 21st, 10AM - 12PM Join a volunteer effort to help clean up the Jordan River Trail! Volunteers can expect to pick up litter/debris and remove invasive weeds. Removing trash and invasive weeds helps to mitigate urban impacts on the vulnerable Jordan River ecosystem. Our clean-ups help to promote the welfare of Utah wildlife while also making the trail safer for both recreators and commuters.
