Join a volunteer effort to restore native ecosystems at Popperton Trailhead! We will preparing the site to plant a variety of native species along the trail with guidance from SLC's Trails and Natural Lands crews. The tasks will include weeding, flagging dead plants, and securing weed barriers to the ground. This will help to provide habitat for native flora and fauna, reduce erosion, and increase biodiversity in the foothills. Please bring sun protection, clothing you'll be comfortable working in, and water. The work area has little shade and temperatures may be warm, especially at the beginning of the project.

Join a volunteer effort to help maintain and preserve the beautiful and historic Allen Park. We will be working to clear away weeds, wood, and other debris to help beautify the space, mitigate fire risk and protect historic structures from wear and tear. Allen Park is a unique and special public space; come enjoy a nice fall morning with us as we show it some love! Bring comfortable clothing, sun protection, and water. We will provide all tools needed :) NOTE: There is no parking available in the park. Please find street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Thanks!

The Fairmont Park rose garden could use some love, and we're calling in the neighbors! 🌹 Join Friends of Fairmont Park on Friday, September 19th from 2–4 PM as we weed, mulch, and tidy up the rose garden to keep it blooming beautiful for everyone who walks by. No green thumb required, just bring your enthusiasm (and maybe some gloves and personal water bottle). Sign up below to volunteer and help us keep this corner of the park as gorgeous as ever.

Join SLC Public Lands to maintain and beautify the 9-Line Community Orchard at the end of the 9-Line Trail! Participants can expect to do tasks such as weeding, raking, beautifying tree wells, and picking up litter while connecting with members of the community. These tasks help these orchard trees, while also keeping this space beautiful, safe, and clean for the community. Bring sun protection, water, gloves (we have extras), and clothes you're comfortable working in. Volunteers must register individually to accept volunteer waiver upon registration. With guidance from SLC's professional landscaping technicians, we will be putting plant starts in the ground, as well as completing some weeding and other simple landscaping tasks. Volunteers can expect to pick up litter/debris, remove invasive weeds, dig/beautify tree wells, or prune vegetation. Bring comfortable clothing, sun protection, closed-toed shoes, and water.
