Salt Lake City Public Lands
Join a BIG volunteer effort to help restore native ecology in areas affected by the Bonneville Fire! We will be working with SLC's Trails and Natural Lands crews to plant thousands of native cactus plants in the foothills, which will help prevent erosion, re-establish native plants, and provide habitat for wildlife. Bring your friends and family for a beautiful fall morning in the foothills, where we will learn how to plant cacti correctly and contribute to our beautiful desert ecosystem. This activity may be strenuous for some, as it involves working on an exposed, sloped hill and some walking uphill to the planting site. Please come prepared with lots of water, sun protection, close-toed shoes, gloves (if you have them) and anything else you may need to feel your best as we plant cacti. We will provide gloves and tools!
